Absolute Smokes

Every Brand We Carry, Compared

Quick answer: We carry 11 brands across 26 products, all king size cartons of 200. Canadian has the widest range at five products; Playfare has four. Every non-Crush carton costs the same at a given quantity, so brand does not affect price. The only exception is the Crush flavoured line at $65.

What we will not tell you

We are not going to rank these brands, and we are not going to describe how they taste.

That may be an unusual thing for a retailer to say, so here is the reasoning. We have no verified comparative data on these products. Any claim we made about one being smoother, richer, cleaner or better than another would be an opinion presented as information. Plenty of sites in this category publish exactly that, complete with confident strength charts, and the numbers in them come from nowhere.

What we can tell you is verifiable: how many products each brand has, which categories they cover, and what they cost. That is what this page contains.

Brands by breadth

Canadian is the broadest line, covering five products across full flavour, lights, menthol, ultra light and the Silvers category: Canadian Fulls, Canadian Lights, Canadian Menthol, Canadian Ultralight and Canadian Original. If you want one brand that spans most categories, it is the only one that does.

Playfare covers four, missing only the Silvers and Original categories. BB covers three including menthol.

Canadian Goose, DM, Nexus and Rolled Gold each carry two products, typically a full flavour and a lights.

DK, Discount and Putters each have a single product. That reflects our current range rather than any plan to discontinue them.

Where Crush is different

The Crush line is the one genuine exception in the catalogue, and it differs in three ways that matter to your order.

It is the only flavoured line, with three capsule products: Cherry, Grape and Tropical Splash. It is $65 a carton regardless of quantity. And it sits outside both the volume tiers and the 2 item order minimum, so Crush cartons neither earn a discount nor count toward one on other products.

If cost per carton is your main concern, Crush is the expensive choice at $65 against $30 for a case of any other line. That is a real trade and worth naming rather than burying.

How brand interacts with price

It does not, with the Crush exception. What moves the price is quantity of a single product line: $45 for 1 to 20 cartons, $40 for 21 to 49, $30 at 50 or more.

That has a practical consequence for anyone buying across brands. Fifty cartons spread over five brands is priced as five lots of ten, so every carton stays at $45. Fifty cartons of one product is $30 each. Same volume, substantially different total. Mixing is a perfectly reasonable choice, but it is worth making it deliberately.

Frequently asked questions

How many brands does Absolute Smokes carry?

Eleven: Canadian, Playfare, BB, Crush, Canadian Goose, DM, Nexus, Rolled Gold, DK, Discount and Putters, across 26 products.

Which brand has the widest range?

Canadian, with five products spanning full flavour, lights, menthol, ultra light and original. Playfare is next with four.

What is the difference between the brands?

They are separate product lines from different manufacturers. We do not publish comparative claims about taste, strength or quality, because we have no verified data to base them on.

Which brand is the best?

We will not answer that, because it would be an opinion dressed as a recommendation. The practical differences you can actually verify are which categories a brand covers and what it costs, and both are on this page.

Do any brands cost more than others?

Only Crush. Every non-Crush product is $45, $40 or $30 depending on quantity ordered. The three Canadian Crush flavoured cartons are $65 at any quantity.

Which brands offer menthol?

BB, Canadian and Playfare each have one menthol product.

Which brands offer ultra light?

Canadian and Playfare. They are the only two ultra light products we carry.

What is the Crush line?

Three flavoured products, Cherry, Grape and Tropical Splash, each with a capsule in the filter. They are priced at $65 a carton and are excluded from the volume tiers and the order minimum.

Do the single-product brands get discontinued?

DK, Discount and Putters each have one product currently. A single listing reflects our current range, not a plan to discontinue.

Can I mix brands in one order?

Yes, and mixing satisfies the 2 item minimum. Note that volume tiers are counted per product line, so mixing brands keeps each line at the $45 price unless you buy 21 or more of one.

What is the cheapest way to buy across brands?

There is not one. Concentrating on a single product is what unlocks $40 and $30 pricing. Mixing brands is a legitimate choice but it costs more per carton.
